My 40th birthday & The Savage Eye day

The Savage Eye day & my 40th birthday
For starters, thanks to Tally for hosting the funeral of my youth, on Facebook. These first two pictures kind of go with the theme - Donnybrook Church, yesterday morning. I was walking (from Sydney Parade) to deStudio, for yet another extra day on The Savage Eye.

It was about 2km walk, which would have been only 1km, had I taken a bus instead, but I prefer the DART as you can tell exactly when you'll be there (unless there's leaves on the tracks, landslide, flood, earthquake, nuclear war, or alien attack, of course..). Anyway, I thought 2km in the morning and another 2km in the evening, wouldn't be that bad. I meant to wear my hiking boots, too, but I'd have needed to change them later, so I decided to just wear the smaller shoes, which are not brilliant for walking so much, though..

I had no trouble finding the place - it's so easy, nowadays, with Google maps / street view, Bing maps / bird's eye view, etc.. Also, the route looked much longer on the map, so I ended up being there quite early. It was a nice morning walk as well, through that beautiful (and posh) area..

This wasn't our entrance, but this looked better for a picture, lol..

We had this lovely room with the lovely soft lights - they only switched on the bright lights later, when the coffee & snacks were set up..

There were loads of amazing books - I could have gladly stayed in that room for a month, just reading! LOL..

Nice room, comfy seats, coffee / tea, snack trays, good books.. Not bad!

I want to make stone mosaics!

However, it turned out that they didn't actually need us until later, so we all got money for lunch, and a looong lunch break. I decided to come home - thanks to S for the lift to Sydney Parade (saving me from walking that 2km) - which was really a waste of time and effort as we'd no food, so I ended up having a little bit of rye bread, and then it was time to go back.

I was starving as I arrived back from the lunch break, but the snack trays were there, so I was living on Nature Valley maple syrup bars & bananas. My tummy was shouting abuse, and I was just hoping that it'd shut up during the shoot :o (It did. My tummy is a pro.)

They had to be done at 7pm, which left us just an hour to shoot the audience part = us extras. We did reactions to 'Pat Kenny'.... *cough*.... I can't wait to see the one where a bully is confronted. Just wondering if they'll leave a certain word in, or not! =D And I might never want to hear Black Betty again =)

Finally, my third time to walk those 2km, and the DART back to Bray.. So, I walked about 7-8km, yesterday, in shoes that are not great for walking much.. I could totally feel it, too! My feet are still sore :o

I had my two Olvi Mojito Lonkeros in the fridge (thanks to J who posted them from Finland!!), so I had my private birthday party in the attic as I read all the birthday greetings on Facebook.

  1. Happy Birthday also on this forum. I'm happy that you had also your Mojito Lonkero moment / celebration. Definitely something to taste when next in Finland.

Looking forward to see the Savage Eye...

  2. Thanks =)

I don't usually love sweet drinks (unless they're supposed to be sweet, like Bailey's and such), but Mojito Lonkero was actually very, very nice!
