Longer version of that sunrise with the dolphins (19th August)
I already blogged about this morning (here, here and here), but now that I've finally uploaded all the photos as well, here's a longer post with all the videos and everything.. That moon picture is very blurry as I had nothing to lean on.. I left home just after 5am, and took these first pictures on the way to the harbour..
I just couldn't get a good picture of this spot, lol.. So, I gave up =D
Above, swan speed.. =D (Nothing else was moving..)
There were birds on the pier, but when I zoomed in I only managed to get these 'artistic' pics (below) as I wasn't steady enough, lol..
This is where I decided to shoot the harbour view video as it was so beautiful.. And while I was shooting it, the dolphins appeared, so I kept shooting and got their jumps on the video =D (I've blogged the video already, but here it is again as a part of this longer entry..)
Then I sat down, planning to just enjoy the sunrise, eating a Tesco cheese twist.. But the dolphins started jumping again, so I whisked out the camera again. These next two videos are extremely poor quality, though, because I just couldn't get a steady position at all. So, if you're as allergic to shaky videos as I am, I recommend ignoring these two, and just watching the one with the frightened swan (and beautiful royalty free music by Kevin MacLeod)
Above, that frightened swan video =)
I didn't get many dolphin photos, this time, just some good bits on video.. You can see some 'dol-fins', though, in a few pics =P
Above, the sun was finally coming up..
The next video was shot between the two photos, above. It's nothing special as such, just a moment of sunrise, to make the moment seem a little bit more 'live' than the photos..

dawns in Ireland are simply spectacular.
ReplyDeleteI usually go cycling to the johnny fox area, wicklow mountains (sally gap) and around dublin south coast. Early in the morning, at dawn, it looks like a dream.
Metello.
Early morning must also be the safest time for cycling, in this country.. I wouldn't have the courage! =D
ReplyDeleteit's not that bad , but we need more cycle lanes in dublin. I read there's a plan to increase that number. Currently they're building a few more around the city center and maintaning the ones on the N11.
ReplyDeleteThey have some awesome cycle lanes in Wicklow Town, on the new road from Dublin Road to The Murrough (Google View link). One of those "let's build the road first" places - and now there's no money to build the rest..
